INTER HOUSE SCIENCE QUIZ

Science quiz aims to inculcate in the minds of young students a spirit of scientific enquiry, analytical thinking and provides a platform to the budding scientists for exchanging thoughts.

To celebrate the National Science Week, Inter House science quiz contest was held on 21 Feb, 2022. Students from classes VIII to X participated in the competition. Four students from each house were selected for the contest. It consisted of four rounds; questions were very creative and it seemed that the students had prepared well, as they enthusiastically participated and tried to answer all the questions. It was keenly contested event and the teams fought till the very end. Ultimately, Sheesham house emerged as the winner, followed by Palash house as the first runner up and Amaltas House secured the third position.

The event was successful due to the contribution of the science department under the guidance of the Principal.

Vasant Panchami

Online Vasant Panchami was celebrated at Blue Bird High School with great enthusiasm. The festival marks the preparation for the arrival of spring. The purpose of celebrating the festival was to connect the students with the Indian heritage and to make them aware of the changes taking place in the nature during the spring season. On this occasion Sarasvati Vandana, Shalok recitation, speech, poems etc. were presented by the students wearing spring coloured clothes. Various craft activities were held in which students of Classes Nur, L.K.G, U.K.G, I, II made Sunflower, kites, Om and Swastika and decorated it.  Students of classes VI and VII recited poems on the importance of Vasant and Class VIII students prepared yellow food/delicacies. The children enjoyed the day, enlightened by the blessings of Maa Saraswati.

CELEBRATION OF MATHEMATICS WEEK on the eve of ‘National Mathematics Day’

To mark the birth anniversary of the famous Mathematical genius Srinivasan Ramanujan, Mathematics Department of BBHS School conducted fun-filled mathematical activities in the month of December, to generate curiosity and interest in Mathematics for classes I to IX. Students delivered speeches in the morning assembly highlighting the importance of celebrating this day and also talked about the significant contribution made by the mathematician. Various activities were conducted for students via online mode as well as in offline mode. Students were made aware in their online classes about the great mathematician Ramanujan and his contribution in the field of Mathematics.

In Classes I to V, the event was celebrated virtually to create logical and analytical thinking in young minds, besides developing their interest in Mathematics. Numerous activities like addition activity, number games, Book cover, Create a shape were done.

In Class VI, students made different Mathematical shapes by cutting and pasting.

In Class VII, Maths Notebook cover activity with different symbols, numbers, shapes and quotes was done. Maths Puzzle on Ramanujan activity was also done by the students. It was based on life span of great mathematician Srinivasan Ramanujan.

Students of Class VIII and Class IX created ‘Maths week’ inspired display boards that proved to be inventive and unconventional. It proved to be an invigorating activity which involved the whole class and created a wholesome connect within them. Students worked as a team supporting and brain storming together.

The week-long celebration culminated on December 22, 2021 with a display of the artistic creations made by students of all classes in the form of PowerPoint presentation. The efforts of the Maths department and the students were appreciated by the principal Ms. Vandna Bhatnagar.
