CELEBRATION OF MATHEMATICS WEEK on the eve of ‘National Mathematics Day’

To mark the birth anniversary of the famous Mathematical genius Srinivasan Ramanujan, Mathematics Department of BBHS School conducted fun-filled mathematical activities in the month of December, to generate curiosity and interest in Mathematics for classes I to IX. Students delivered speeches in the morning assembly highlighting the importance of celebrating this day and also talked about the significant contribution made by the mathematician. Various activities were conducted for students via online mode as well as in offline mode. Students were made aware in their online classes about the great mathematician Ramanujan and his contribution in the field of Mathematics.

In Classes I to V, the event was celebrated virtually to create logical and analytical thinking in young minds, besides developing their interest in Mathematics. Numerous activities like addition activity, number games, Book cover, Create a shape were done.

In Class VI, students made different Mathematical shapes by cutting and pasting.

In Class VII, Maths Notebook cover activity with different symbols, numbers, shapes and quotes was done. Maths Puzzle on Ramanujan activity was also done by the students. It was based on life span of great mathematician Srinivasan Ramanujan.

Students of Class VIII and Class IX created ‘Maths week’ inspired display boards that proved to be inventive and unconventional. It proved to be an invigorating activity which involved the whole class and created a wholesome connect within them. Students worked as a team supporting and brain storming together.

The week-long celebration culminated on December 22, 2021 with a display of the artistic creations made by students of all classes in the form of PowerPoint presentation. The efforts of the Maths department and the students were appreciated by the principal Ms. Vandna Bhatnagar.

INTER-HOUSE MATHEMATICS QUIZ

Mathematics Department of Blue Bird High School, Panchkula organized an Inter-House Mathematics Quiz competition – QUIZOPHILE 2021 for Classes VII and VIII on 21^st October, 2021. The Principal, Ms. Vandna Bhatnagar, addressed and encouraged the participants with her inspiring words. She guided and motivated the students. Six students from each house participated in the quiz which was conducted in the school Multipurpose Hall.  The quiz comprised of four rounds; Mental Ability, Flex Your Brain, Rapid Fire and Activity Based round. Rules of each round were explained in the starting of all four rounds. These rounds were conducted by Math teachers. Students participated with a lot of enthusiasm showcasing their potential. The Quiz encouraged the students to learn the subject joyfully, which will go a long way in instilling enthusiasm and confidence in them for the subject. The result of the quiz is given below. All participants were awarded participation certificate. The Principal congratulated the winners and inspired all students to engage themselves in such productive teamwork.

Republic Day Celebration

BLUE BIRD HIGH SCHOOL celebrated the 73rd Republic Day with great patriotic zeal and fervour. The national flag was unfurled by the head and accompanied by the other members of the school. The program was followed by national anthem and patriotic songs. To commemorate the day; the patriotic speech was delivered by one of the student to highlight the importance of the constitution in the smooth functioning of the system. Various activities were conducted in the school and students had actively participated in the different activities with zeal and passion.
